DSCN5186.jpgNote: Rudder horn to match rudder pull pull dimensions.113 viewsThe YAK will come out tail heavy so go for big motor.
I also put on board glow up the front to increase nose weight.
Super Tiger engine has been very very reliable. (Must run at least 4-5 tanks through before first flight)
In my experiance Super Tiger will not run very well until it is run in well (it over heats and stops ).

DSCN5191.jpgSuper tiger 2300162 viewsGreat engine but has to be run in.
I use 18/% cool power. 10% nitro.
Note: use of carbon rovings to hold down throttle nyrods.
Note: Carby is rotated to make installation easyer.

DSCN5422.jpgCowl Cooling127 viewsVery important to keep the engine cool.
Having big opening at front will not work.
All air that goes in will take path of least resistance.
You must force air where it is needed.
Note on this model all the baffles used in the cowl.

DSCN7913.jpgFlair Fokker DR1 1/4 scale rc aircraft WW180 viewsDetail od construction of the litho plate fire wall.
Note Saito 180 used in theis aircraft.
180 chosen for weight as the DR1 is usually tail heavy but also so that a large diameter prop can be swung.
The DR1 had a verylarge propeller almost from top wing to undercarrage wing

DSCN7929.jpgDetail of the brass undercarrage attachment point95 viewsNote: I made the undecarrage on the Flair Fokker DR1 so that the wheels can be locked onto the shaft.
This modification helps reduce ground looping.
If the steering not sufficent on the ground the wheels can be made to slip and allow adjustment for preventing ground looping and good ground steerability

DSCN8363.jpg304 viewsNote threaded rod and bearing in end of rod.
Standar aluminium extrusion was used.
Rail slides use sliding door runners and nylon blocks for location.

DSCN8371.jpg284 viewsAny wing airfoil section can be loaded and used to cut any cord size that the bed will take.
My axis can be moved to allow for any wing span.
Note : if cutting large tip to root ratio make sure the bed size is set as small as posible to reduce the axis triangulation movment distance.
